The nursery menu has been designed with the assistance of a local dietician to ensure that all children obtain a well balanced and healthy diet. All fresh produce (including meat) is bought locally and is GM Free. Where possible, we try to ensure that at least three of the “five a day” servings of fresh fruit and vegetables are incorporated into our daily menu. Vegetarian options and cultural variations are available, if required and special medical diets can be catered for.
Meals
The meals we provide at Tiggywinkles consist of the following:
Mid morning Snack - Lunch - Afternoon Snack - High Tea
Mid morning Snack - Lunch - Afternoon Snack - High Tea
The mid morning snack usually consists of either toast, pancakes or croissants with fresh fruit available and is served between 9 - 10am.
We provide a home cooked lunch for all children at 12 Noon which consists of a main course followed by dessert.
Afternoon snack usually consists of any of the following:
- Cheese and crackers,
- Bread sticks and dips,
- Vegetables crudites and dips or raisins.
High Tea is served at 4.00pm and usually consists of sandwiches, pasta or other light meals. We serve fruit cordial, water or milk with all meals and we have a water cooler on site to which the children have direct access should they need a drink at any other time of the day.
Policies All parents must read and sign that they have read our policy documents and abide by the policies at all times. Parental consent is required for the following:
A. Prior to any trips or outings
B. Before consulting with any other professionals.
C. Before sharing information about your child with any other named person.
D. Before taking photographs of your child within the nursery setting.
E. For emergency medical care and any medication that your child may require.
Please note: Should your child require medication whilst in our care, a written record will be made and you will be asked to read and sign this before your child leaves for the day.
